l3arcelona and I, we went to bed a bit on the late side.
At 4:19 am, we were shocked awake by the smoke alarms going off throughout the house. We both jumped 10 feet, and Mike checked the house to make sure everything was okay, since they only beeped a few times and stopped on their own.
At 6:19 am, they went off again. This time, Mike's reaction was not so pleasant. He screamed obscenities at the top of his lungs, and it stopped. I sat there for a full minute, totally silent, before bursting out laughing. I couldn't stop laughing for almost five minutes, I think it has to do with the disturbed sleep, and the fact that I had been having a dream that they went off the first time because our neighbors were smoking pot andevilnicola was sending cross-dressed exes in her place to school.
I pointed out my theory that they were going off every two hours exactly somewhere after I stopped laughing.
As if to spite me, at 6:29 am, they went off a third time. This time, Mike threw a magazine at the one in the bedroom. I gave up on the effort to sleep, and he's decided that it has to do with the fact that he closed the door to the room with the furnace last night.
I'm exhausted, this day is going to be less than fun (but better than yesterday, shockingly).
