Aug. 27th, 2008 01:20 pmI wanted to bake cookies, and we don't have butter. I also didn't feel like going to the store. So I'm winging it. I am making chocolate peanut butter chip cookies, and instead of butter, I substituted almost half a cup of vegetable oil (I ran out) and a bit of sesame oil. The dough looked very dry, so I added 1/2 cup of hot water. It looks pretty good, and a sample of the batter tastes good, but we'll see how it turns out.
ETA - They're good! They're pretty rich, but I would imagine that the recipe would have been fairly rich anyway, given the amount of cocoa that went into them.
