Dec. 12th, 2008 07:32 amWell, I'm pretty lucky that I decided to park in the garage when I got home yesterday afternoon. At the time, it was because I didn't feel like getting soaked with rain in the run from the car to the house. Now, it seems if I had parked on the street, like I normally do, I would have a rather large tree limb running through my car.
It's interesting, we often have three cars parked on the street in front of our place, today, there were none.
The ice storm is doing a number on the trees on our street. So far, we still have power, but the branch that would have destroyed my car took another line down. Maybe phone or cable, we don't have either, so we wouldn't know.
Also, the driveway is flooded, which is a regular occurrance when it rains. No water in the house, though, which is good.
Mike is on the front steps taking pictures. And I just heard another branch come down. It's tough to sleep in with all these interesting noises!
